Provides quality loan processing, reviewing files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensuring completeness of submission. Will contact borrower, real estate agents and referral partners and to collect necessary documentation and act as a liaison between origination staff, underwriters, and customers to effectively close loans.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Always Close on TIME
  • Deliver WOW service Contract to Close
    • Send disclosures to borrowers with updated Needs List and get docs returned within 48 hours.
    • New contracts introduction to realtors via email.
    • Email L.O. to do a warm/fuzzy call to both agents.
    • Written Tuesday Realtor Status Updates.
    • Update all involved after new documents are uploaded or status changes occur
    • Request, organize and process loan documentation and independently submit 15-20 files to Underwriting monthly
    • Submit loan 15 days before closing date
    • Analyze borrower loan-to-value ratio, debt-to-income ratio, credit report, application, income and assets, source(s) of down payment funds, and examine all supporting documentation to identify potential fraud or misrepresentation.
    • Provide follow-up on a consistent basis with originators, borrowers, and agents to complete processing
    • Build rapport with our internal and external customer, and referral partners
    • Ensure Documents to Closing within 48 hours.
    • Obtain and verify clearance of all underwriting conditions and prepare the file for submission to Closing.
    • Pipeline meeting weekly with Loan Officer and Branch Manager
    • Pre Close Checklist with Client 48 hours before closing.
    • Attend closing if LO cannot
    • Call, Email and Text clients and get all conditions.
    • Working with Clients
    • Prepare the loan file for underwriting review
    • Prepare mortgage loan file by reviewing loan application; clarifying and obtaining additional information.
    • Effectively, provide professional internal and external communication whether written or verbal.
    • Calculate income and Debt to Income ratios.
    • Continue to stay abreast of underwriting and compliance guidelines
    • Update all involved after new documents are uploaded or status changes occur
    • Provide follow-up on a consistent basis with originators, borrowers, and agents to complete processing
    • Build rapport with our internal and external customer, and referral partners

Minimum 3 Years Of Mortgage Processing Experience Required

  • Expert-level knowledge of overall mortgage lending internal processes and controls, as well as federal, state, and regulatory requirements/guidelines related to consumer mortgage lending for conventional loans.
  • Expert-level knowledge of conventional loans, FHA, VA, and Bond mortgage loans, including various product/program guidelines, necessary conditions for approval, and investor specific guidelines.
  • Expert-level knowledge of valid documentation related to processing consumer mortgage applications (e.g., tax returns, financial statements and records, verification of income and deposits, etc.).
  • Expert-level knowledge in new construction documentation and condominium projects.
  • Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusion, determine downstream impact of decisions and associated risks.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment; strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
  • Prior experience using internal data entry systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF/Document Retention programs.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with Loan Officers, Production, Underwriting, Closing, and other internal and external partners.

Education.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
