About Us
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is the public transportation provider for the region. Established in 1979, METRO operates and maintains Houston's HOV/HOT system, the Park and Ride system, light rail lines, local fixed route bus systems, and METROLift. METRO currently boasts over 3500 employees.
