Leadership Lake Houston - Economic Development Day, November 15th

Partnership Lake Houston, Class XI, spent their last Tuesday learning about Economic Development through various presentations and tours.   Class XI met at Generation Park where Stephanie Wiggins, Chief Economic Development Officer for PLH, partnered with CenterPoint Energy to open the day with an Economic Development 101 overview and how Economic Development is a team effort.  Adam McAlpine with McAlpine Interests and Deborah Rose Miller, Realtor for Rose Realty provided information on challenges/opportunities to development and residential development & growth.
Class XI loaded an Humble ISD school bus and spent the afternoon touring Insperity and  JSL Foods where they learned each company’s history and why they chose the Lake Houston area to call “home”.  The class ended their day back at Generation Park where Bryan Ruth opened their eyes to all that has gone in to making Generation Park a success.  Each presenter and each session sparked good conversations surrounding Economic Development and what it takes to make this area a great place to Live, Work and Play.
